Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?

Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Miranda's Rescue is a 50 acre facility with 30 working acres. We are located on the corner of Drake Hill & Sandy Prairie Roads. Our property is divided into two sections. We rescue dogs, cats, horses, reptiles, small mammals, domestic and game birds, tropical birds, livestock, & exotic animals such as alpacas, emus & llamas and many whatever other critter needs our help and we can accomodate. Some of our animals have found permanant refuge at our facility. Click our Link on the left "Sanctuary". There's no type of animal that we won't rescue. We've even had camels residing here before. • MIRANDA "RESCUE" is under investigation by Humboldt County Sheriff Office Major Crimes unit for killing several dogs by shot to the head burying them in a mass grave. Two of the dogs were puppies and one was only there a couple weeks. In the last two weeks literally thousands of Social media posts have been made of people, rescue groups and fosters who took dogs to Miranda "Rescue". Unfortunately what has resulted is thousands of missing dogs and lies about adoption pictures, and thousands are grieving and afraid their surrenderd, rescued, fostered dogs have met the same fate. Miranda " Rescue " advertised being "No kill" and an animal sanctuary where dogs who weren't adopted could live out their days. Instead Miranda has been killing dogs and getting rich off of charging placement fees. He may have killed thousands of dogs. Several county shelters have suspended their contract with Miranda including Oakland, Berkley, Fortuna, EurekAlert and many others.

  • The Owner kills dogs for profit, avoid at all costs. Please see current news stories running on NBC Bay Area, The press democrat. NBC Bay Area, Times-Standard, East Bay Times, The Mercury News, etc. The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating Shannon Miranda for felony of animal abuse. Volunteers have stated they were asked to throw dead shot dogs in the river. 8 dogs shot in the head were dug up on the premises. @NoKIllNetwork Respectfully please remove Mirandas rescue from your website. You're putting dogs in danger. Thank you.
