Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in California

Since 1952, Haven Humane Society has been caring for lost, homeless and abused animals in the Redding area. Our founders recognized that city and county resources could not support our mission of providing shelter and humane care for all animals who come through our doors. Instead, these concerned citizens created a charitable non-profit organization that is privately funded by people who believe all our four legged friends deserve love and respect.
Over the years, Haven Humane Society's services have expanded to include a spay/neuter hospital and Morgan Adoption Center as well as community outreach and education to help make animal abuse and neglect a thing of the past. We are very proud to have earned a reputation for providing the gold standard in quality animal care throughout Shasta County and beyond. But the biggest reward comes from carrying out our founders' purpose; giving animals a safe haven and helping them transition to happy lives in loving homes.
