Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Mutt Match LA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation governed by the laws of the State of California and was incorporated in 2009 by founder and director Sheilah Aragon.
We are an all-breed, all ages rescue. While we do not specialize in any one particular breed, we have a special place in our hearts for puppies, seniors, and special-needs cases. While many people believe cute, cuddly puppies are the first to be adopted from shelters, it simply isnt true.
Mutt Match believes in intervention, stepping in when possible to keep dogs out of an already over-crowded shelter system where they are vulnerable to illnesses, abusers, and less-than-ideal homes. So we take owner surrenders, strays, and dogs being given away on sites likes Craigslist.
Rescue Ranch & Sanctuary
Mutt Match is blessed to have its own rescue facility, The Mutt Match Rescue Ranch & Sanctuary, exclusively for the rescued dogs in our care. Dogs that may never be adoptable due to health or behavioral issues remain at the ranch for life-long sanctuary.
Whether its for ten days or ten years, we are committed to our rescues for a lifetime. We do not euthanize dogs for anything less than quality of life. Mutt Match provides hospice care, comfort, love, and a safe haven for the very difficult and terminally ill cases. We make all efforts to provide the best care and medical options for our dogs. However, we will not allow an ailing dog to suffer with poor quality of life. It is a gift to be able to end an animals suffering and when that difficult decision has to be made, we ensure it is done with the utmost love and respect.
