Mini Cat Town is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that specializes in rescuing neonatal kittens. It was founded by three sisters; Thi, Thoa, and Tram Bui. Since 2015, Mini Cat Town has rescued over 3500 cats and kittens. What started out as three sisters feeding stray cats, led to TNR (trap, neuter, release), followed by fostering, the formation of an independent rescue, and eventually a nonprofit rescue organization with over 300 volunteers, 50+ foster homes, and 7 dedicated board members.
Our first adoption floor opened in 2019 and is located inside Eastridge Shopping Center in San Jose, CA. It is open to the public daily from 12 PM to 7 PM, where you can come visit our adoptable kittens and apply to adopt if you happen to fall in love. Since 2019, we have expanded to 4 additional locations: Stoneridge Mall in Pleasanton, CA, Great Mall in Milpitas, CA, Santa Rosa Plaza in Santa Rosa, CA, and 429 California Ave in Palo Alto, CA.
In 2024, Mini Cat Town opened its very own mobile low cost spay/neuter clinic: Spay Shuttle, to address our community’s biggest issue: accessible care for pets. Due to the boom in COVID pets and rising costs in veterinary care, access to affordable care became scarce. Limited appointments are now open. We hope to expand availability in the future.
Mini Cat Town is partnered with multiple shelters and rescues in California to be a safe landing space for neonatal kittens. Once kittens are 8 weeks old and 2 pounds, they are spayed/neutered and placed onto our adoption floors to find their forever homes.
