Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

We are the County of Santa Clara Animal Services Center- Dedicated to saving and improving the lives of animals in our communities. We take in about 4,000 beating hearts each year, from pot-bellied pigs to parakeets. We strive to reunite lost pets with their families while finding homes for those still in need. We facilitate adoptions and engage volunteers who share our mission. We care for the sick and injured and reduce pet overpopulation through affordable spay and neuter services. We investigate complaints, cruelty, and neglect. We rescue livestock in-need and assist with injured wildlife. We serve people and animals in a disaster. We partner to save animal lives, enriching human lives in the process. Four-legged, feathered, hooved, horned—we help them all, proudly standing as a “no-kill” shelter since 2013. We do it with dedication, compassion, optimism—and the support of people like you.
