Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in California
(report broken link)
ASTRO Foundation was founded in 2012 by a group of animal advocates in Oakdale, CA. The organization was formed to rescue as many homeless animals as possible and ultimately build a modern no-kill shelter for the community.
ASTRO Foundation also has partnered with Petco which provides us with cat cages at their facility at 2341 Claribel Road, Riverbank, CA. We hold adoption events at this location most Sundays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with our Mobile Adoption Bus which was purchased in 2015.
ASTRO Foundation is run entirely by volunteers. We are paid only with pet hair and paw prints.

PO Box 457
