Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Heart of a Horse Foundation is a 501(c)3 public tax-exempt charity that is dedicated to rescuing abandoned and abused horses and placing them into loving homes. In the three years of its existence, the Heart of a Horse Foundation has helped to save over 400 horses and provided medical supplies and hay to four therapy rescues including Above and Beyond, the Willie Ross Foundation, Compton Junior Posse and Horses Hearts and Souls. We also promote public awareness about these abused horses as well as support therapeutic riding programs. The primary goals held by HOAH are to rescue horses via horse welfare, support safe, monitored horse involved sports and natural horse retirement.
