Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Atlantic County Canines is a local 501(3)(c) non-profit independent rescue that was founded in 2006 by a small group of dedicated people with a passion to save the homeless animals of Atlantic County and surrounding New Jersey area Shelters. We are an all volunteer organization with one sole purpose: To rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home shelter dogs that were once in danger of being euthanized due to the overcrowded Shelters in New Jersey. We are a network of experienced rescue people who's goal is to give these once abandoned animals a second chance and adopt them to families that will love and care for them for the rest of their lives. We advocate spaying and neutering of all companion animals to counteract the overpopulation of dogs and cats and to end the tragedy of euthanizing healthy, unwanted companion pets.
