Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The New Jersey Misfits Canine Rescue is a foster based registered non profit rescue. Founded in 2018 by Jennifer & Matthew Orlik. With home base in Hunterdon County, Frenchtown New Jersey we have volunteers/ fosters through out the state as well as Pa. We are a non breed specific rescue that strives to place former homeless dogs in their furever homes. We do not discriminate against breed, age, or size, and will often take the dogs that are the most overlooked, in over crowded high kill shelters, owner surrenders as well as neglect cases. We are dedicated to saving and re-homing our loving misfits and serving all of New Jersey.
