Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in New Jersey

The Cat’s Meow Rescue Group is an all-volunteer, non-profit (501(c)(3) public charity) cat rescue dedicated to providing a safe shelter for homeless cats while finding the loving, permanent homes they deserve. We care for cats and kittens from various backgrounds but most commonly we pull cats from animal shelters to reduce euthanasia due to overcrowding.
We care deeply about our rescue cats and insist on adoptions being a good fit for both for the cat and humans. We educate adopters and the community about proper care for a cat, the harms of declawing, the importance of spaying/neutering pets and TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) for community/feral cats.
