Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Our Vision: At Lucky Dog Retreat Rescue, we envision a future where all dogs have a safe and loving home.
Our Mission: Our mission is to pull dogs with special needs from shelters and provide a safe, low-stress environment, medical treatment, and training to find them a forever home.
Values: Lucky Dog Retreat Rescue does not discriminate based on breed, age, or medical need. Our only requirement is that dogs can be safely boarded with others in a daycare setting.

Values: Lucky Dog Retreat Rescue does not discriminate based on breed, age, or medical need. Our only requirement is that dogs can be safely boarded with others in a daycare setting.
Strategy:
• We partner with local shelters to identify dogs in need that are stressed in a shelter setting, are seniors, or have medical conditions that will be a barrier to placing them on the adoption floor.
• We leverage our partnership with Lucky Dog Retreats daycare, boarding, training facilities, and personnel to provide a safe environment, perform temperament testing and provide training to help identify requirements for suitable homes.
• We leverage our relationship with Animal Medical Center to access high-quality, low-cost veterinary services to address dogs medical needs.
• We rely on volunteers to retrieve dogs from shelters, transport to/from vet visits, provide foster homes, manage fundraising, and other rescue activities.
• We solicit support from our donor base and apply for grants from corporate and nonprofit entities to fund our mission.
