Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?

Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

At Humane Fort Wayne, we work tirelessly for the benefit of pets and the people who love them. Everything we do—from adoption and retention programs, to wellness services, community outreach and education—helps to promote their happiness and well-being.

The Allen County SPCA and H.O.P.E. for Animals united in 2021 to build a positive force for animal welfare in Northeast Indiana. When pets have safe, forever homes, they thrive. And with their loving companionship, so do we.

Humane Fort Wayne operates entirely on the generosity of animal lovers in our community. Humane Fort Wayne is a no-kill shelter! Humane Fort Wayne is 100% donor-funded.
