Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Tyler's Rescue was founded in 2014 by Lizzy Goldstein after she lost her best canine friend Tyler. Tyler was a dog located at the current shelter that Ms. Goldstein was volunteering at. Over the course of 6 months, Lizzy and Tyler formed an amazing bond however, on January 30th 2014, the shelter euthanized Tyler due to behavioral issues. Tyler came from a very bad neglect and abuse situation and would bite out of fear. The shelter euthanized Tyler after he bit someone for the third time and unfortunately they didn't have the resources available to work on Tyler's issues and find a better solution for him. Lizzy was devastated by Tyler's death and vowed that as long as she was able, she would do everything to help dogs in need and give them that second chance that many shelters today don't have the capability to do. As of right now we are a foster based rescue, but hope in time with the support and help of fellow animal lovers and advocates, we can acquire a facility to further help the animals in our care and increase their chances for adoption.
