Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Nuts for Mutts Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer dog rescue organization incorporated in March of 2010 and located in Rochester, New York. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and all donations are tax deductible. Our operations are supported solely by donations and volunteers.
Our mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and obtain medical care, through licensed veterinarians, to ultimately re-home abandoned, surrendered, stray, abused or neglected dogs. We also want to educate the public on the plight of homeless dogs, the benefits of adoption, the importance of spay/neuter, and the proper care of dogs.
