Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Stray Haven is a no-kill, 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization that has been dedicated to protecting stray, unwanted, abused and neglected animals for over 50 years.
Our no-kill Humane Society and SPCA is located in Waverly, NY. We primarily house dogs and cats while they wait to find their new adoptive families. We offer low-cost spay/neuter services to the public, free rabies vaccine clinics, a variety of dog training classes, and participate in humane education, and pet therapy programs. Volunteers (and fosters) are always welcome, and minors must be accompanied by an adult.
