Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

We are a Non-Profit, No Kill, All Volunteer Animal Shelter in the heart of Hilton, NY dedicated to helping feline friends in our local community find forever homes.
Our shelter was named after the late Kathleen Anne Tenny, a life long resident of Hilton, NY & animal lover. Kathleen passed away in 1991 and left her estate to the Town of Hilton so that an animal shelter could be established in our community. After many years of hard work and dedication, the Kathleen Anne Tenny Animal Shelter opened its doors on October 22, 2002. Happily in the last ten years we as a shelter have taken in, cared for and adopted out more than 1,000 cats and kittens.
