Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in New York
(report broken link)
WAYWARD PAWS, Inc. was founded in 2006 to help slow the growing cat over-population problem. We rescue, vet, foster and find forever homes for homeless cats/kittens. We are made up of a core group of dedicated volunteers whose mission it is to slow the over-population of cats (40,000 kittens are born in the U.S. everyday) in the CNY area! We do this by spaying/neutering, TNR (trap/neuter/return), fostering and finding cats/kittens forever homes! We serve Onondaga, Madison, Oswego, Cayuga and Cortland counties. We go wherever there is a need for our services! If you are interested in adopting a beautiful kitty (or two) from us, please visit our Facebook page. Also, located inside the PetCo-DeWitt on Erie Blvd. in Syracuse is our Adoption Room where our cats/kittens are waiting for their Forever Homes & Families!!
