Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

CAMP HAPPY TAILS NYC INC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are a FOSTER HOME/SANCTUARY for RESCUED puppies and dogs. We give every pup/dog their best life daily until a just right forever family is found. To date, CAMP HAPPY TAILS NYC INC has fostered over 325 dogs – from bottle feeding puppies to dogs that have been severely abused or injured and require intense healing.
Through love, compassion and caring, CAMP HAPPY TAILS NYC INC creates a safe, clean sanctuary for rescued dogs and pups to heal and grow physically, mentally and emotionally, where they are properly cared for and socialized. All this is in preparation for adoption.
