Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Second Chance Animal Rescue of Levittown (SCARNY) pets come from bad situations; some once had homes; perhaps their owner died leaving them nowhere to go, others were abandoned, some have always lived on the streets and others came from a hoarder or breeder situation.
Second Chance volunteers rehabilitate, socialize, get them the medical attention they need, provide them with unconditional love, and help them to trust and heal in a safe environment before being placed into pre-qualified loving homes to become part of your family.
Second Chance Animal Rescue of Levittown receives no county, federal, or state funding. We rely on volunteers to fundraise funds and the generosity of the public for food donations and monetary contributions for our medical fund. We continually fundraise for this.
Every animal we rescue goes into a home to decompress, feel safe, and be evaluated. We provide unconditional love and nothing is asked of the animal other than to feel safe. This first week is for observation. We assess the animals’ needs for socialization and house-breaking or litter box training. The priority is to establish trust as we do not know what trauma each animal has experienced.
