Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Operation Buddy Rescue LLC is a non-profit organization and is part of Operation GYPSY, Inc 501(c)(3). We are a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer pet rescue serving the greater Rochester, NY area. We are dedicated to helping dogs that are homeless, in public shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia, or given up by owners due to inability to properly care for the animal.
Any dog brought into our care will be placed in a approved foster home where they will receive any vet care needed to ensure health and prevent reproduction. Fosters will also work with approved trainers, if needed, to ensure emotional well being and safety of any pet before placement into a permanent home. We will remain committed to any pet in our care after they are adopted requiring that should it not work out they are returned to us and never given away or placed in a shelter.
We vow to put all donations received towards the care of pets we take in. We also will strive to work with other shelters, rescues, and humane organizations to help create a safe and caring network to help dogs in need. Our group will always be committed to the care of dogs in our care and community, striving to help through our foster program and education of those we work with or come into contact with.
