Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Florida
(report broken link)
We Care For Paws Foundation is a 501c(3) home of natural Designer Dogs and experienced Lap Cats. Run by Carol Allard, a military Veteran, this private organization prides itself on being a great resource for the homeless pets in our local community.
Carols goal is to provide temporary care for at risk dogs and cats; while educating the public on the benefits of animal companionship, animal safety, and the unique nature of elderly canines and felines. She beams with love, care, and excitement when she has found one of her shelter babies a furever home.
We operate a limited intake, no time limit, dog and cat shelter. Some of the animals are unadoptable due to medical problems, behavioral problems or old age, and they will live out their lives in peace at the shelter. We rehabilitate those we can and actively adopt to good homes. We have a 5 acre private facility in Hernando County, FL. We cannot accept more animals than we can take care of properly.
We are a no kill shelter, and double as a military pet boarding facility for free. In 2015, we partnered with a community group to keep 240 animals out of shelters. Our contribution to the No-Kill movement.
