Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Spay the Strays, Inc. is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit cat rescue organization. We are a no-kill, foster, cat rescue. We do not have a shelter or a clinic. All of the kitties we rescue are taken in by volunteers to nurse back to health, socialize and prepare for adoption. We help curb further over-population in our communities. We are able to save lives only with the help of our network of fosters, volunteers and supporters like you.
Each of our foster families is carefully vetted to ensure they qualify to foster for Spay The Strays. These big-hearted individuals give their time and energy to make sure that the homeless cats and kittens in their care. Without the tiring dedication of our foster families, there would be no Spay the Strays.
