Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that was founded in early 2009 with the purpose of rescuing animals from the Transylvania County animal shelter which was, at the time, a high-kill shelter. In 2008, records show that 71% of the animals brought to the Transylvania County animal shelter were euthanized. By the end of 2009, 80% percent of the animals were being saved thanks in large part to the efforts of Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue.
Today, we are one of the leading animal rescue groups in western North Carolina and we are enormously proud of the work we do. In 2017, we rescued upwards of 800 dogs and cats. Some were owner surrenders, most were from the shelters we partner with. In several cases, we were called in to help with horrific hoarding situations.
