Amy animal shelter that allows a person to walk away without paying a fair amount for an adoption fee does not care much for animals. When someone gets a free animal from a wealthy shelter a smaller shelter can not compete and will bne forced out of business. This means the animals in that area are not adopted, ther small shelter is forced to closed its doors, lraving the animals at the mercy of public shelters where they are very lokely to be euthanized. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO REACH NO KILL NATHAN WINOGRAD And all who follow you. THIS IS WRONG>>>WRONG>>>WRONG. Giving a cat or a dog for free IS NOT AN ADOPTION and should not be caled so. Face it...we DO have a PROBLEM WITH PET OVER POPULATION and yours will never solve it. The only answer is education of the public in responsible pet care and a Strong spay/neuter program. I operate Catman2 Inc. a cats only shelter in Cullowhee, NC and I welcome a visit to see how a good shelter operates. I am not some old fool. I am a retired Professor of Biology, prblished author, professional photographer and song writer. I built Catman2 with my own money and labor and have been doing this 18 years. I am aware that Tompkins County NY is a poster child for the no-kill movement. I have visited and I can tell you the problem may be under control but drive beyond the county line and the animal shelters are hurting. THERE WILL NEVER BE A NO KILL NATION unless we get over being myoptic. For Shame!
