Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
No-kill shelters do wonderful work, but as a result, are often inundated with pet surrenders. In the unfortunate scenario that you have to find a new home for your pet, please read through the rehoming solution and articles on this page before contacting the shelter.

very unprofessional, liars, waste of time. they tell you whatever they want, whenever they want. delt with them for weeks, they told us we were narrowed down to 3 people, then one backs out; so now its 2. one hour before they are supposed to bring the dog over for a visit, we get a call. "after bringing her on a COUPLE of home visits(which is strange considering we were 1 of 2! homes being considered) the dog is no longer considered be friendly with cats. so now they are going to give it to a "police officer friend" who lives out of state to train her(like writing speeding tickets for a living makes you a better at training dogs. even k9 officers don't train their own dogs, thats why they cost $10k, but whatever). basically, one of their friends decided they wanted the dog at the last minute, so they gave it to him, then came up with some BS story to justify their decision . thanks for nothing tanners flaws
