Florence Lauderdale Animal Services

Mission and Vision

Florence Lauderdale Animal Services is dedicated to the delivery of humane and responsive animal care and control services for our community. We receive all stray, abandoned, and surrendered pets in the City of Florence as well as Lauderdale County. We work in partnership with fosters, volunteers, local adopters, and various rescues to rehome thousands of homeless animals every year.

Our shelter has an abundance of adoptable pets at any given time. It is our goal to provide exceptional services to the pets and people of our community and we hope we can count on you to help us end the needless suffering of pets in our area. We are actively seeking loving, caring and dedicated volunteers from our community to provide daily pet care and socialization to the shelter pets.

It is our goal to reunite all pets with their families. Florence Lauderdale Animal Services makes every effort to contact owners when an animal comes into the shelter with identification tags or a microchip. Since 90% of shelter dogs and cats do not have any correct form of identification, the pet owner must be proactive in reclaiming the pet. Florence Lauderdale Animal Services wants the pet owner to reclaim the pet and when financial issues are a hardship, we will work to find a solution.
