Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Alabama
(report broken link)
Crossing Paths Animal Rescue was begun in 2006 by concerned men and women in Blount County, Alabama, distressed over the high number of homeless and abandoned animals in our county.
The local shelter is considered a "high-kill" facility, meaning many of these dogs are under a 7 days limit.
We are a small group of volunteers who work to find good, loving ‘forever’ homes for as many homeless dogs as possible. The dogs that we work with are abandoned and, otherwise, have very little hope of rescue. We have a large network of volunteers in Blount and Jefferson Counties, families who are willing to give these dogs a safe, temporary home.
