Loving Care Cat Rescue
Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Our founder and director, Lisa Snyder, started rescuing cats as a child. She would see the unwanted cats, hear their horrible stories, and feel sympathy for them. Lisa would bring kitties home and care for them with the support of her mother. As an adult, Lisa got involved with TNR (trap, neuter, return) and helped to care for TNR colonies. It was through this work, and her involvement with Spay Neuter Assistance Program of PA, that she saw the obvious need for more places for friendly outdoor kitties to go and formed the rescue.
Loving Care Cat Rescue’s mission is to provide loving care to every cat that comes through the rescue, regardless of the circumstances or medical condition; and actively seek a permanent home for each cat/kitten rescued. Unless serious illness warrants, euthanasia is not an option for cats in the care of Loving Care Cat Rescue. We strive to treat all members of our rescue, both human and feline, with respect, and to always do the right thing for our kitties. Although it can limit our capacity, we feel every kitty deserves the best chance to survive.
LCCR is a network of foster homes throughout central Pennsylvania. We are 100% volunteer run. We average 935 rescues each year, and 805 adoptions, and our numbers grow each year. Since the inception of the rescue, we have accepted into the rescue, vetted, spay/ed neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and provided flea treatment and any other additional care to approximately 3800 kitties since 2016, and have had over 3600 adoptions.
