Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

DDR was founded in Moon Township, PA in 2006. Since then, DDR has grown to cover the entire north eastern US. DDR was established on the idea of helping Dobermans in need and since then have expanded our help to include the Miniature Pinscher breed as well as other breeds we have experience with.
We are a 501(c)(3), Not For Profit Organization and a corporation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania composed solely of volunteers that function solely on donations, fundraising efforts and volunteers.
Funds are used to offset the costs of rescuing and re-homing the dogs that enter our rescue. There are various costs involved with each dog that is rescued. Some of these costs include shelter fees, veterinary care, medications, and equipment.
DDR receives Dobermans and Miniature Pinschers from shelters as well as private owners. Some rescued dogs come into rescue in poor health or suffering from the affects of neglect and/or abuse. Each dog receives a vet exam, necessary vaccines and medicines, a microchip, a heartworm test (heartworm treatment if found to be positive), spayed/neutered and all known health issues are addressed prior to adoption.
DDR is run solely by unpaid volunteers who devote time and energy because of their love for these majestic breeds. Our volunteers do this in addition to having families, jobs and dogs of our own. Our only reward is knowing we have made a positive difference in the lives of the dogs that come into our rescue program.
