Family Addition Dog Rescue
Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Family Addition Dog Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Charlotte, NC and the surrounding area. We are a small volunteer-based rescue with all of our dogs residing in foster homes. We work hard to help save lives, rehabilitate the broken, and find their happily furever afters. We pull dogs from several local shelters, many of whom are at high risk of euthanasia. We are not a first come, first served rescue. We truly strive to find the best fit for each particular dog based on their personality and needs. Our adoption process requires an application, giving personal and vet references, as well as a home visit.
All of our dogs are vaccinated, are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and kept on flea and heartworm preventatives while in our care. Our fosters work hard on potty training, socialization, and any other things that need to be improved. Our goal is to help make our foster pups the best boys and girls that they can be and to get them ready as possible for their new home and family!
