Perfect Paws Animal Rescue was founded in 2017 by Kirstie Knaeble. Kirstie is a North Carolina native who moved to Illinois in 2015 and brought with her a happy, bouncing 6 month old son, 2 Pomeranians and a few too many cats. It was a dream of Kirsties to eventually run a no kill animal rescue that would save the lives of the many animals who have been left behind and forgotten about.

It was her passion to work with seniors, animals with behavior issues and those with medical ailments that would otherwise deem the pet as unadoptable.

Through her work she has saved countless animals in need and assisted many low income families through our C.A.P.P (Cash Assistance for People with Pets) Program to ensure their pets get proper care, therefore increasing the number of animals that could stay in loving homes.

In 2019, Perfect Paws Animal Rescue opened its first brick and mortar location in Bourbonnais IL. The shelter features a 23x23 dog kennel room with spacious kennels and a TV, a 15x23 cage free cat room where our kitties are allowed to roam and live their best life, a large indoor play area and multiple fenced outdoor play areas for lots of puppy playtime and fun.

Perfect Paws Animal Rescue is a no kill 501c3 non profit organization that is focused on reducing the population of homeless animals through solid adoptions, spay and neuter initiatives, assistance for families in need of pet supplies and medical care, education and community engagement.

We do our best to place animals in loving homes that match the individual needs of the pets and the families looking to adopt. First and foremost we want to make sure that each pet is happy in its new home and that its new family is equally as happy to have them there.
