Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

IF DOGs is the Animal Rescue Initiative of IF by Innergy. We are a 501c3 that provides services to underserved communities currently in Texas and Nicaragua. Our goal for If Dogs is to combat the dumping of dogs, abuse, lack of education, and equip the communities thru education and bringing to light the resources available. Our team is a diverse group of animal activist, trainers, community leaders, doctors, athletes, and volunteers. Our director Stephanie Hanson is on the Dallas Animal Commission Board. We work with the local shelters, families, and strays to find dogs homes where they can live a happy safe life. We are about community, therefore the majority of our work is boots on the ground in underserved neighborhoods providing the needed resources. In 2021 we provided over 10,000 lbs of dog and cat food, assisted 390 families with necessities, vet care, training and pet ownership education. We also rescued over 200 dogs, more than 60 of which were designated to be euthanized by Dallas Animal Services. This is just the beginning. But in the end we hope for a world where rescue isn't needed.
