Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The mission of Shelby Shelter Non-Profit is in its name. Shelby means "a place where willows grow". The willow tree is the symbol of healing and new life. Shelby Shelter hopes to provide just that to animals in need. Our goal is to save and find permanent homes to animals of all sizes. Our community outreach program and initiatives are designed to help animals.
Shelby Shelter is a 501(c)3, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to humanely reducing cat and dog overpopulation. By educating the public about the need to spay and neuter their pets and strays; providing access information to low-cost spay/neuter services for stray, homeless and abandoned animals; helping members in their efforts to place adoptable pets in loving homes; and advocating non-lethal population control.
