Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Amarillo Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals believes that animals, as living creatures, have value beyond economic measure and are entitled to legal, moral, and ethical consideration and protection. Our mission is to be an advocate for animals and to defend their rights, to provide for the well-being of our communitys animals who are abandoned, injured, subjected to unfair or cruel treatment, or otherwise in need; to cultivate in our community an awareness of the animals whose world we share; to promote a bond of mutual assistance between people and animals; and to instill respect for and appreciation of all living things.
