Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Dallas Street Dog Advocates (DSDA) was founded by a passionate group of people determined to transform the lives of abandoned street dogs in Dallas and surrounding areas. The need has never been greater. Texas shelters are overwhelmed, with many unable to accept more animals due to the skyrocketing number of strays. Heartbreakingly, some dogs are abandoned by their families, left to fend for themselves in dangerous conditions, while others face immediate euthanasia in overcrowded shelters.
DSDA is a beacon of hope. Acting as a "bridge" between these vulnerable dogs and their forever families, we work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome. Our dedicated volunteers ensure each dog is sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped, helping to break the cycle of unwanted dogs. Placed in loving foster homes, these once-neglected animals learn trust and love, recovering both physically and emotionally.
