Carmen’s Rescue
Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Carmen’s Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Upstate of SC.
We are dedicated to rescuing abandoned and neglected dogs. Once out of harm’s way we work to get the dogs into loving, responsible, permanent “forever” homes.
We are a small group that is able make a difference through the kindness and fearlessness of the dedicated volunteers who find and rescue these precious animals, the foster families who open up their homes and hearts to those whom have never known the touch of a loving hand or the warmth of a home, and through the generous and selfless donations of the kind and caring people who believe in what we do.
We work intimately with SHS to take in some of their least adoptable dogs, getting them into our foster homes and then prepared and adjusted to a normal home life. When they are ready they will go up north to one of our rescue partners so they can find their forever home.
