Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Feline Foundation of Greater Washington, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue, care and adoption of homeless cats and kittens in the metropolitan Washington DC community.
Formed in 1995, our mission is to provide the necessary veterinary care for animals in our program, to find permanent, loving homes for them where they will be treated with love and respect for the rest of their lives, and to educate the public regarding responsible cat care.
Cats in our program reside at private homes of foster care givers and remain within our organization until a permanent home is found.
