Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Windmill Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization devoted to the health and wellbeing of animals. The shelter is housed in the Windmill Feed and Pet Supply Company building in Elko New Market, Minnesota. Windmill relies on the generosity of its donors and volunteers to keep the shelter functioning. We are always seeking new volunteers to care for the pets and maintain the facilities. Because Windmill Animal Rescue has no paid positions, every donation goes directly to helping the animals. Windmill Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and we rely on supporters like you! To learn more about volunteering or to make a donation, click [here]! To further help animals of all shapes and sizes, Windmill now has a small Wildlife Rehabilitation operation. Though space is very limited, our efforts never are!
