Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Minnesota
(report broken link)
Wadena County Humane Society was founded in 1997 through the efforts of dedicated local volunteers. We accept owner surrenders, strays, and animals at risk for euthanasia at other crowded shelters when we have space. We provide medical care and behavioral support to abandoned pets. Adopted pets go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.
WCHS is 100 percent independently funded -with NO relationship to the Humane Society of the United States- and relies on generous donor contributions and the love and labor of volunteers. Thank you for all you give and for every animal you save!
