Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

We recently rescued a dog from I heart dogs and they were awesome! Not only did they guide and direct us to get the right fit for our family, they made sure that we were set up for success! They don’t just give these animals to anyone that walks in, they screen the applicants to make sure the pet will have a wonderful, loving , caring fur ever home. Treated like and valued like any family member.including vet care and yard safety. I will go back to them again! I believe in adopting, not shopping! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for entrusting Lulu to be cared for and raised by us ! You and your sttaff are a true blessing, keep up the excellent job you are doing!
