Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Kansas

The Eureka Animal Pound, located North of Eureka on P Road at the airport, is a no-kill facility. The City works with many rescues and adoption agencies to find homes for animals rescued from Eureka. Many times we pick up an animal on the street and we have no idea who it might belong to because there is no tag registration or worse, we have a pet caught running-at-large and the owners just dont want to spend the money to pay the fine to get their pet back. Either way that leaves the City with a lost and lonely pet that needs a new home.
