Izzy’s Place Senior Dog Rescue

Izzys Place Senior Dog Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill, all foster rescue in northern Colorado. We focus on rescuing and re-homing senior dogs of all breeds. We believe dogs truly are humankinds best friend, and no one is more deserving of human kindness than elderly dogs. They give us unconditional love for their whole life and deserve nothing less in return during their golden years. Unfortunately too many senior dogs are neglected and abandoned when they need our care the most.

Our mission is to provide a safe haven for senior dogs in need of one, and to prevent any elderly dog that we can from feeling abandoned and afraid.

We take in senior or adult dogs over seven who have lost their homes due to owner surrender, or when their person is no longer able to care for them or has passed away. As an all foster rescue, our adoptable dogs are maintained in safe and loving homes, never in a shelter. In fact, whenever possible we also rescue senior dogs from the scary stress of a noisy shelter; we place them in an environment where they can thrive and feel secure. They can remain there until we find their forever family who understands the challenges of adopting a senior, and appreciates the overwhelming rewards.
