Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

To rescue, rehabilitate and re-home discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.
National Mill Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Colorado.
We have been in existence since February of 2007 when Theresa rescued our founder, Lily, from Reedgate Kennels in Missouri. When Theresa got to the auction, Lily was sitting up in the back of her cage in the dark barn that she lived in. Lily was sitting on her back legs and rubbing her stomach with her front paws and looking Theresa square in the eyes and asking her for help.
Address:
