Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Buck’n-r-Ranch was established in 2010, as a 501(c)3 non-profit “no kill” domestic animal rescue and sanctuary. BRRARI was established after co-founders Don and Bonnie Buckner found an abandoned 15 year old cat at a storage facility. She was so malnourished and so diminutive, at first sight, she was thought to be much younger than her 15 years. Despite her deplorable living conditions, she approached them with a look of happiness in her eyes. They took her home, had her vetted, and called her Olive. Olive lived on for another safe, happy and fulfilling year with the Buckner’s. The incident lit a fuse for Don and Bonnie to help domestic animals who are neglected and abused. Today, BRRARI is a Colorado (PACFA) licensed rescue, currently operating on 22 acres in Franktown, Colorado.
