Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Wisconsin
(report broken link)
We have been rescuing horses, dogs, cats and other
domesticated animals since 1998.
In 2001, Richland County and the city of Richland Center contracted us to impound stray / lost dogs. We also take in surrenders. We have placed approximately 200 dogs per year the last 3 years. Thus far, we have also saved over 200 horses from slaughter. We have also re-homed rabbits,
llamas, and cats.
We are a no-kill shelter. In fact, we have several pets who will spend the rest of their days with us because they are not suitable for adoption.
We are working towards having all dogs and cats, spayed and or neutered, before adoption.
RAR, Inc. is an all volunteer organization.
