Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

The Forest County Humane Society
is a non-profit 501(c)(3) no kill shelter in Wisconsin’s Northwoods - Crandon WI.
We rescue, rehabilitate and adopt out all breeds of dogs, cats and other small companion animals.
We fully vet every animal that we rescue before they are adopted including spay/neuter, all vaccines and boosters, lymes disease test, heartworm check, feline leukemia test and deworming.
We care for our homeless animals until we can place them with loving families.
We are not funded by the county, state or federal government.
We are funded solely from donations (small and large) from people just like you.
