Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Then came and got a cat i found abandoned and sometime later i called about that sweet cat and they remembered me and the cat and told me it was just like i said scared but gentle, they tried to find its owner but finally put it up for adoption and i was happy to here a woman came in the cat jumped in her lap and she adopted it

Last year i caught an abandoned Maine Coon cat at a boat launch at Rowena, i called a feral cat rescue group and they got there late and took my frightened rescue along with several feral kittens they had spay and neutered, Oregon is very compassionate about their animals as shown by there feral feeding statios and cans for canines i have seen around good idea
