Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Louisiana
(report broken link)
Louisiana Lifeline for K-9's is a non-profit, no kill, foster based rescue organization dedicated to the care, rehabilitation, and adoption of shelter/homeless dogs, located in DeRidder, LA. We are a strictly volunteer organization.
The purpose of Louisiana Lifelines 4 K-9’s is to save the lives of dogs in danger of being euthanized in animal shelters.
Despite the commitment of animal control and shelter workers to the animals in their care, over 5 million animals are being killed in shelters in the USA each year. We encourage Southwest Louisiana residents to adopt a "pound dog" rather than buy.
We were founded on the principals that no animal should ever die…sad and alone in a kill shelter.
Lifeline's Mission is simple:
-To rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned dogs, mainly in Beauregard and Vernon Parish.
-To reduce pet overpopulation by educating pet owners about the benefits of spay/neuter and implementing low cost spay/neuter programs.
-To prevent cruelty, abuse and neglect of animals in Beauregard and Vernon Parish.
- To ultimately achieve a "No Kill" community through educating, inspiring and collaborating with others to end euthanasia as a means to control animal population.
