Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Slumdog Rescue Crew is a canine rescue located in Andersonville, TN. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs from the urgent situations. We are a volunteer-based organization with animal and rescue experience amongst our volunteers. SRC is devoted to helping the most needy of the canines, rehabilitating the dogs under our care to physical and emotional health as they await their permanent homes. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed homes, following an adoption process, which includes an adoption application, vet reference check, and home visit. Slumdogs are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while awaiting their forever home. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority. We do not take owner surrenders or strays that have not been held for proper stray hold at a local shelter.
We strive to work our area shelter and other rescues to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a village dedicated to saving the dogs in need. We work with our local shelter, Anderson County Animal Shelter, to help dogs have more exposure for adoption. We assist in helping dogs in ways of transport, social media and outings. We do not take in owner surrenders, we work directly with the shelter to assist the dogs that need more time.
