Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Adoptable Pets in Tennessee

Pet overpopulation is a national epidemic. Our mission is to educate the public concerning proper care & treatment of all companion animals & to utilize available resources to effectively reduce the number of those animals found homeless in our community. Our programs & services are designed to serve the animals in our care & to give them a second chance. Our purpose is to help lost, abandoned or abused animals & our goal is to never again have to euthanize an animal because there is not enough room for them in our shelter.
Each year almost 15,000 animals are delivered to our facility. Our hopes are to convince our community to spay & neuter their animals, adopt animals from local animal shelters or rescue groups and to be responsible owners. Only responsible human guardianship & a heightened public awareness of the need for prevention through spaying & neutering will bring about the changes in pet over population.
